The 70s and 80s were married yesterday as Hermes displayed its Spring/Summer 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week. The fashion house, which always has us lusting after its handbags, put on a display based on the lady traveller of the past. Harem style trousers and oversized jackets marched down the catwalk complemented by simple yet striking tunic dresses. And there was a huge nod to the sophisticated 70s thanks to the introduction of wide culottes as well as head scarves. Other styles we can expect to filter down into the highstreet next year also include frocks, which give a nod to the Grecian style as well as pleats, which were huge in the collection. Colour wise we’re going to see blacks, burnt oranges, rusts and blues and frankly we can’t wait. Now all we need is a Hermes handbag to match…Hermes Spring/Summer 2012
